Peter LaBonte, Project Manager

Peter LaBonte is a Project Manager for the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He also serves as a senior consultant, trainer and Baldrige coach for Brennan Worldwide. Peter has extensive experience facilitating training and work sessions on strategic planning, balanced scorecard performance measurement systems, organizational assessment and process management methodologies.

Mr. LaBonte is currently leading the ASQ’s quality initiative to use Baldrige as a systems approach to achieve performance excellence and sustainability. The American Society for Quality (ASQ), a knowledge-based global organization of quality experts headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., was recently awarded 2008 Mastery Level recognition by the Wisconsin Forward Award.

Prior to assuming the responsibilities as Project Manager, Peter LaBonte served in the ASQ Department that administers the Baldrige National Quality Award Program under contract to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His Baldrige award program responsibilities included coordinating all logistical aspects of the award process and supporting Baldrige review teams through the independent, consensus, and site visit reviews.

Peter LaBonte is dedicated to advancing quality principles and best practices in organizations from all sectors. Since 2001, Peter has served as an Examiner and Site Visit Team Leader for the Wisconsin Forward Award (WFA) and has served as a Senior Examiner for the California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE) program. He has conducted numerous Baldrige internal assessments for ASQ and external assessments of organizations in the business, healthcare and non-profit sectors. Peter’s ASQ Baldrige Award Program and Examiner experience provides him with a unique insight into all aspects of the process.

Peter frequently speaks on Baldrige at conferences including the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE), TMA Users Group Annual Meeting and Excellence at Work Conference. As a member of the board of directors of Hope House, he participates in a non-profit outreach program supporting the Milwaukee community.

Peter has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
